Best Summer Picnic Spots in Tagaytay

Famous for its extraordinary natural beauty and pleasant climate, the picturesque city of Tagaytay is only two-hours’ drive from Manila. The mountainous spots of Tagaytay overlooking the Taal Lake makes it one of the favorite summer destinations in Philippines to many vacationers. Philippines is a tropical land, and this makes the summers in Philippines dominated by scorching heat of the Sun. But the city of Tagaytay offers some excellent picnic spots that provide an escape from the troublesome summer. So, plan a vacation to Tagaytay and visit these relaxing places!

Tagaytay Picnic Grove overlooking Taal Volcano

Well, if you are looking forward to doing something different this summer, explore the area around the Taal Volcano in Tagaytay. Although only a group of 6 people can access the volcano at a time and that also requires a good amount of admission fee, you can visit the park, Tagaytay Picnic Grove, overlooking Taal Volcano which is available for a family picnic. The park is well-maintained and has plenty of picnic tables, benches, and huts to enhance your experience.

Palace in The Sky

A short drive from Aguinaldo Highway in Tagaytay, the Palace is The Sky was originally meant to be built for the former President Ferdinand Marcos as a presidential guest house. However, this beautiful complex remained unfinished and soon, it was opened for the public. The People’s Park in The Sky is favored by the locals and the tourists altogether. A visit to the park is a must to see how mind-blowing the city of Tagaytay is.

Paradizoo Theme Park

Known as the first zoo theme park of Tagaytay, Paradizoo Theme Park is a perfect summer treat for the entire family and visiting it is one of the best things to do in Tagaytay. A combination of farm and zoo, this theme park is home to various farm animals, butterflies, and flowers. Forget the summer, whichever season you are touring the city of Tagaytay in, Paradizoo Theme Park should be a part of your vacation planning. The meditation garden, Eclectic Garden, Orchid Pavilion, and Honey Bee Farm are some more interesting attraction in Paradizoo.

Sonya’s Garden

Apart from the natural scenery that Tagaytay has to offer, it also has some unique place that you cannot resist visiting while here. This Bed and Breakfast place began as a garden and later got converted into a resort. With 14 cottages and 18 rooms, this place can be a perfect summer destination for couple who want to romance amidst nature’s bounty. Pamper your body with the spa or gorge on authentic Philippines cuisine, Sonya’s Garden will make your summer full of delights.

Punta de Santiago Lighthouse

Also called as Cape Santiago, Punta de Santiago Lighthouse is one of the popular destinations in Philippines. Named after Don Santiago Zobel, the owner of the land, the lighthouse boasts 51 feet high tower, four living rooms, and a fenced courtyard. The hard wood panels and spiral staircase inside the lighthouse also display unique features. As you reach the top, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the shore.

In addition to the summer picnic spots mentioned above, you can also head to the Twin Lake Shopping village with your family to shop some interesting items or take a tour of the vineyards for a rejuvenating holiday.
