Travelling Around the Globe

Travel Stories - Shelia - May 7, 2015

Travelling Around the GlobeExploring new places makes your life worth living for. Every trip will give you a new experience, new adventure, thrill and lot more excitements. Travelling around the Globe gives you the feel of aliveness. Report says that travelling to new places will refresh our brains and it gives chances to forget our problems. One can learn different culture, food& activities and gives opportunity to get connected with peoples. Those experiences should be collected, recorded and cherished. We live only once, live it to its best.Travelling to new places will help you to come out of stress, work pressure. The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. – St. Augustine. Well said lines – How do you read a book? By its cover? By its first page? Or the whole book? It’s all up to us. There are many ways that we can spend our time in doing sightseeing, trekking, rafting, paragliding and exploring the great outdoors. A vacation will be more exciting if you are really sure that you will be having fun to the place that you’re going to. It is more exciting if we could go to other places for new environment not only for relaxation but also for recreational activities we could do and discover new things. The feel of spending time with the Nature is the god’s paradise.

I have wonderful memories and stories of all these places. I dream of more places like those! They were all times of being with my family. However annoying and irritating they may be, its fun! When I am lying on my death bed, these are the things I hope to think off. You cannot say that you do not want to feel the way I do, about visiting these remarkable places. There are thousands more too. Near where you live and far far away in unknown lands. Some of the most astonishing places are the unexpected and hidden places.

Be brave and let loose your desires! Taste new foods even if you think you won’t like them. You may be surprised… Take photos. Explore and take more photos. The memories are treasures! The best thing to do is to go to a city for one day. You’ll feel a rush to go everywhere, but relax. It’s supposed to be fun. You’ll never forget those extravagant and eccentric landmarks, food or even the people. Save up your money now. Go with your family all around the world! Or you could go back-packing with friends for a few months – for a once in a lifetime opportunity!

As somebody once said, ‘the world is your oyster’. Accept all you have been given. Make the most of it and experience it to the max. This is our world; we have the right to see it all. Whether we’re nine or ninety years old. Take the time to enjoy yourself and be mesmerized by your findings. I will do everything in my power to see as much as I can. I therefore insist and beg you to do so too. Remember what somebody once said.

It’s time for you to reward yourself after hardship.

5 Top Cruise Lines in the World

Lazy Destinations, Relaxing Resorts - Shelia - September 28, 2014

In this article, I am going to look at 5 of the top cruise lines in the world. Some of them are pretty swanky, while others appeal to the modest traveller – all of them are fantastic!

They have been ranked according to a range of criteria. Also because they look really cool. Let’s have a look at them.

Disney Cruises

Disney Cruiser - New york

Yes, you read that correctly – a Disney themed cruise ship. This breaks the preconception that cruises are ‘just for old people.’ It actually attracts a lot of families with small children and why wouldn’t it?

The ship is chock-a-block full of your most loved Disney characters walking around deck, screening of Disney’s best films and live action plays.  It sounds like a lot of fun – I am sure the kids will enjoy it too. This is perfect for parents who want their kids to shut up for 5 minutes.

Where does it go? Alaska, Caribbean and Western Europe

Cost: $US150 or less per day.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line - Greece

If the colourful design on the front of the ship doesn’t already give it away, this cruise is a little bit different than most. It is known as ‘The Freestyle Cruise,’ because it focuses on giving patrons the opportunity to do as they please in a very chilled out atmosphere.

The Norwegian Cruise Line has a very relaxed dress code – travellers dress casually and are free to move about the ship to enjoy any of the onboard activities, which include musicals, comedy shows and food events. It’s not hard to see why this is popular among travelling families

Where does it go? The U.S West Coast, the Caribbean and Mexico.

Cost: $US150 or less per day

Azamara Club Cruises

Azamara Cruiser - Montenegro

In an article about cruises, we had to include one that is marketed to old farts and Azamara Club Cruises is that.

What distinguishes this cruise from others is that it has extended port stops, allowing the mainly elderly guests more time to wander about the city. They probably need that time too, because it takes them longer to get to places.

Costs: $US450-$700 per day

Where does it go? The Black Sea, British Isles and Panama Canal.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Regent Seven Seas - Lithuania

This cruise is a luxury line that provides impeccable service and a first class experience. You would certain hope so for the amount you’re paying! But don’t worry, because shore excursions and drinks are included in the board price.

Travel with other rich 50+ people, who will probably be drunk most of the time because of the free drinks on offer.

Where does it go? South America, Europe and India

Cost: $US701 or more per day

Seabourn Cruise Line

Seabourn Cruiser - Bordeaux

Seabourn is a luxury cruise line that is best described as fancy smancy, because it offers onboard activities like wine tastings and lectures.

This cruise line appeals to couples. Couples that like being all cultured, or at least pretend to for the benefit of their partners.

Where does it go to? The Mediterranean, Caribbean and Asia.

Cost: $US301-450 per day

Author Bio

Post kindly written by Bradley Rowe, Perth local and lifelong traveller. He swears by these lads for any boat cruises on the west coast of Australia, less extravagant but just as fun.

Cusco Sights

Lazy Destinations - Shelia - May 12, 2014

For lovers of things ancient a trip to Cusco in Peru is definitely a must. Cusco acts as a fantastic jumping off point to explore the famous Inca ruins of Manchu Picchu which has quickly become one of the world’s most revered cultural sites. Not only a way station for Manchu Picchu Cuzco also has several wonderful sites and attractions to visit. Perhaps the single greatest tourist commodity that Cusco enjoys is the Peruvian people themselves who are selfless, kind and always provide fantastic hospitality to guests of their city. More things to do in Cuzco include.
Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun)
Pampa del Castillo at Plazoleta Santo Domingo
The Incas were one of the world’s largest and most well organized empires previous to the arrival of the Spanish upon their lands. No where is this better represented by Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun). An iconic monument for the Incan empire Qoricancha was decorated by more than 700 gold plated walls that allowed sun to reflect off the  temple’s many alters and statues. A massive complex, more than 4,000 priests and their attendants lived at the same time within the comfortable confines of this temple. Not surprisingly the Spanish looted all of the golden plates from the walls, but in modern times still  Qoricancha exists as an example of the intriguing Incan architecture and masonry work. The design techniques of this church became used in several of the Spaniards monuments and churches creating some of the first Andean and Spanish architecture. Qoricancha can be visited from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm daily at a cost of around $3.75 US Dollars.

Cathedral
142 Portal Espinar | Cusco, Peru
Amongst the wonderful buildings of the Plaza de Armas the Cathedral stands out as both one of its tallest and finest architectural displays. Originally constructed in 1550 the Barque design is still an awe inspiring sight. The interior is equally impressive having opulent ceilings, ornate oil paintings and alters made from gold and silver. Filled with wonderful works of art one of the most famous is a painting that depicts the earthquake that shook Cusco back in 1650. Connected to this tale, and also on display in the Cathedral, is Senor de los Temblores which is the crucifix that is said to have stopped the earthquake from destroying the whole city. Other works of art in the Cathedral exemplify both the Andean and Catholic cultural heritages of this region. The Cathedral is open from 10 am to 6 pm with admission costing around $3.75 US.
